Sofa Set Table: The Mistake I Made and the Measuring You Should Do Instead

I bought a sofa set table last spring — the kind that goes in front of the couch, low and long. I measured the living room, I measured the sofa height, I even measured the gap between the coffee table and the TV stand. I did not measure the hallway leading to the apartment. The table arrived, the delivery guys took one look at the 90-degree turn by the front door, and said "No way." We had to disassemble part of the doorframe. That's on me.

Here's what I should have done first, and what you should do before you even look at price tags.
