I bought the Eurotech Vera chair because it looked like it belonged in a showroom. The curves, the mesh, the way the lumbar hump seemed to float. I clicked order before checking the seat depth. Big mistake. First full workday I was sliding down like a kid in a booth seat, and I spent lunch reading the return policy.

The Mistake: Ignoring Seat Depth and Back Height
Most people (including me) look at a chair and think width matters most. For the Vera, it's the seat depth. This chair has a 19-inch deep seat, which is generous. I'm 5'10" with average legs — my knees were hitting the front edge before my back touched the lumbar. If you're shorter than 5'8", you'll want the seat slider all the way back, and even then it might feel long. The back height is 22 inches, which puts the headrest (if you get it) at neck level for me, but for a taller person it might hit shoulder blades.
Check the measurements before you pull the trigger. Withers not just about whether you fit — it's about whether you'll want to sit for eight hours.
What Actually Works: Lumbar That Moves
The thing the Vera does right is the back. The lumbar support isn't a pillow you strap on; it's built into the frame and moves with you when you lean. I adjusted it once and forgot about it. The mesh back breathes too — I stopped sticking to the chair by noon. That's not a minor perk.
The Fix: Order It With a Plan (and a Return Window)
Once I realized the seat depth was the problem, I adjusted the slider and the tilt tension. The slider helps, but I still feel the edge of the seat under my thighs after a few hours. If you're on the shorter side, buy from a place that lets you return it after a week. I tested mine for exactly that long — my back was fine, my legs were the issue.
The One Factor That Decides the Buy
Your torso-to-leg ratio, not the marketing photos. The Vera is a great chair for someone with a long back and average legs. If you're all leg or all torso, the fixed seat depth will fight you. Measure your own seat depth (from back of knee to back pocket) and compare it to 19 inches. That number is what makes or breaks this chair.
